The Alabama Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers has a rich history and offers a variety of services, resources, and programs in support of our members. Alabama Section members come from all disciplines of civil engineering, from all types of backgrounds, and from all corners of this great state. They seek to be involved in the Alabama Section of ASCE for benefits geared to meet the high standards of the profession and to stay on the cutting edge of industry technology. 2021 Alabama Section Socially Distanced Winter Meeting

The Tuscaloosa Branch of ASCE hosted the 2021 Winter Meeting of the Alabama Section on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at The Cypress Pavilion, located on the northern bank of the Black Warrior River near downtown Tuscaloosa. The Cypress Pavilion provided a beautiful view of the Black Warrior River while over ninety (90) participants enjoyed a great day of learning and fellowship with engineers and industry professionals.  The Winter Meeting agenda included educational presentations on a range of Civil Engineer related topics followed by a tour of the Tuscaloosa County Precast Bridge Yard. We are very thankful to the sponsors and exhibitors that made the day a huge success!!

Blackmon Receives 2020 Daniel S. Turner Scholarship

Congratulations to Ms. Jordan Blackmon from the University of South Alabama for receiving the 2019-2020 Dr. Daniel S. Turner Student of the Year Award and Scholarship from the Alabama Section of American Society of Civil Engineers. Ms. Blackmon received her award at the Board of Directors Meeting on September 30th, 2020 in Montgomery, Alabama. Ms. Blackmon is an outstanding Civil Engineering student, characterized by excellent academic achievement, membership (and leadership) in professional and honorary student organizations, and community outreach.
