The Alabama Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers has a rich history and offers a variety of services, resources, and programs in support of our members. Alabama Section members come from all disciplines of civil engineering, from all types of backgrounds, and from all corners of this great state. They seek to be involved in the Alabama Section of ASCE for benefits geared to meet the high standards of the profession and to stay on the cutting edge of industry technology. The resources of this site and the individual webpages of each Branch will assist you in staying up to date on upcoming events, Branch information, Section news, Society programs, and much more. 2019 Winter Meeting

The Dothan Branch of ASCE hosted the 2019 Alabama Section Winter Meeting on March 7, 2019 at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center. The event was a great success and was well supported by Alabama Section members. There were over 75 people that attended the event, and there were 7 exhibitors.

The Winter Meeting agenda included educational presentations on a range of civil engineer related topics. That afternoon, attendees were invited to attend a site visit of the Wiregrass Public Safety Center.

Birmingham Branch Host Congressman Gary Palmer

The Birmingham Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers was pleased to host Congressman Gary Palmer at our November Branch Meeting. Congressman Palmer gave our guests an overview of his accomplishments from his time in Congress including his work on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Intergovernmental Affairs Subcommittee, Science, Space, and Technology Committee and the Budget Committee. Mr. Palmer also provided an update on infrastructure funding, energy policy and de-regulation with time for Q & A for attendees at the end of the event. The Birmingham Branch would like to thank all members and guests for attending this event, and we look forward to hosting our half-day seminar in December.
