2025 ASCE Winter Meeting in Dothan

On March 20, 2025, the Alabama Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) conducted the 2025 Winter Meeting, organized by the Dothan Branch. This event was held at the Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center and featured a comprehensive program that included informative sessions, networking opportunities, and engaging giveaways. The conference attracted over 80 participants who contributed to meaningful discussions and collaborations.

A noteworthy aspect of the meeting was a guided tour of the Wiregrass Public Safety Center (WPSC), a 23-acre, $23 million facility designed to support police, fire, and emergency medical training. This state-of-the-art center exemplifies the commitment to enhancing public safety through advanced training programs, leaving participants with a deeper understanding of the critical services provided to the community.

2024 Summer Meeting


The 2024 ASCE/APWA Alabama Summer Meeting returned to the Perdido Beach Resort again with a 3-day format and expanded program! 7th Annual Civil Engineer Legislative Drive-In

 

The 7th Annual Alabama Civil Engineering Legislative Day Drive-In was held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Alabama Department of Archives & History and Alabama State House in Montgomery, Alabama. The Alabama Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Council of Engineer Companies (ACEC) of Alabama, the Alabama Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ALSITE) teamed up to host the event!  Senator Clyde Chambliss, P.E. and Representative Cynthia Almond spoke to the group about the legislative issues facing the State of Alabama and bills affecting Civil Engineers.  At the conclusion of the event, attendees visited with their legislators in order to engage them about infrastructure!
