Date: July 27th 2010

The 2010 Alabama Section Summer Meeting brought us to a new venue – The Conference Center at The Wharf Resort. By all accounts, the new venue was excellent and the meeting another great success. We had 151 attendees and 19 exhibitors at the event. The technical program consisted of two tracks with a total of 24 speakers covering structural, environmental, transportation, and geotechnical topics in civil engineering. 34 people enjoyed an afternoon of golf on Friday at Glen Lakes in Foley.

Lane Morrison of the University of Alabama was named Outstanding Civil Engineering Student of the Year, earning a $3,500 scholarship from the Section.

A big THANK YOU to the 19 exhibitors and 13 sponsors that helped make the meeting possible, and to the 9 sponsors of the golf tournament.

Copies of the conference program the PDH record form, and the Exhibitor/Sponsor list can be downloaded at the Section web page here.

Photos from the meeting have been uploaded to our new Picasa Web Albums page.
